Happy New Year 2017!

What a mix of emotion 2016 has been. I’ve figuratively said goodbye to far too many legends, also literally and sadly to some important friends. My beloved centenarian friend died, she lived beyond the rhetoric of mediocrity and I think decided enough was enough, hopefully by now she is explaining to my parents my aptitude for horrendously poor decisions, hugely accelerated and based on alcohol. At least I’m consistent…...isn’t that an admirable quality?
What a crazy month, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the build up to Santa’s birthday and the annual ‘12 Pubs of Christmas” pub crawl was legendary. Over 100 Santas marching around Windsor, leaving a trail of fallen Santas in their wake. Oh what a night and boy, oh boy, what a hangover. A perfect send off to a crazy year.
I look forward to dry january, that’s a dry white just to clarify. I’m taking my anti abstinence seriously you know folks.
So Happy New Year to you all, here's to another year of shameful binge drinking, excessive merrymaking, continuous laughing, endless swearing, constant talking and indulgent shaming of idiots. More travel, fun and continuous running from growing up or out, giving life, love and friendships second chances, but never a third.
Let’s make this year about waking our social conscience, keeping personal diatribes away from social media and trying to be more altruistic in attitude and stance. Make history before we become history you fuckers.
This empirical traveller still can’t say no, refuse an opportunity, ambition, challenge or drink, or understand the concept of moderation, boundaries, limits or refusals. I've stopped procrastinating, you’ll be pleased to know, I've just decided to neglect all my mundane responsibilities and focus on the fun ones. I’ve entered the age of uncomfortably honesty, so if you’re still here reading this, then it looks like you’re a keeper.
Here’s to another big night tonight. My checklist tomorrow morning…….clothed, sufficiently…..keys, yep, found them…...Coffee, black…….Sanity? Sanity? And we have a runner!
